Our highlight of the month was our Kantamanto Upcyclers Edit at @ihavesomethingbetter bazaar in Hackney, London 🇬🇭🇬🇧
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the pop-up and to those who got an upcycled piece from our booth! Each purchase is the story of an item which was destined to landfill but was rescued by the creatives at Kantamanto and given a new life 🙌

![Our hearts have been heavy since the news about the devastating fire which turned a large part of Kantamanto market into ashes. 💔
Kantamanto is the world’s largest secondhand clothing market and textile sorting hub. It’s home to approx. 30,000 traders including recycling and upcycling businesses.
Every year, 85% of all textiles end up in landfills. If you’ve ever donated clothes to charity or thrown them away, there’s a high chance they ended up here. Even unworn, unused clothing from global companies such as H&M, Zara, Shein, Levi’s, PrettyLittleThing, and designer brands finds its way to Kantamanto.
THIS IS WASTE COLONIALISM.
It’s the extremely manual, hardwork of these traders which diverts those items from ending up in landfills, carrying heavy crates on their heads, processing over 15 million items of clothing every week to transform waste into valuable products.
Now, these traders have lost their livelihoods, and the destruction of Kantamanto market puts the future of our planet at even greater risk. 😔
THIS IS OUR COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY.
We strongly believe in the strength of the community at Kantamanto. With our collective support the traders will bounce back from this.

Kantamanto Upcyclers Association is a collective of 86 sustainable businesses and affiliates based in Kantamanto.
Upcycle It Ghana is a non-profit organization creatively repurposing discarded items into reusable shopping bags, which serve as an alternative to single use plastic bags.

Meet The Founder
THE FASHION BLUEPRINT (TFB) is founded by Giovanna Vieira Co (she/her).
With 10+ years in fashion, Giovanna has worked across luxury brand management at Selfridges, sales and client development at Louis Vuitton, CRM at Ganni and marketing at Rotaro. From learning the systems of some of the world’s biggest fashion businesses to creating processes at startups and medium-sized brands, she combines deep industry expertise with a passion for innovation and sustainability.
Giovanna founded TFB to challenge wasteful practices, promote circular systems, and foster collaboration across the fashion industry. Through community engagement, workshops, lectures, and tech-driven initiatives, she uses her experience to empower brands and changemakers to drive meaningful, scalable impact.
Her mission is to open doors and create opportunities for people of all backgrounds, particularly those ready to shape the future of fashion with vision, creativity, and purpose.
