About the event
Every year, huge amounts of perfectly good fabric are thrown away before anyone wears it: offcuts from the cutting room floor, surplus rolls left over from production, and clothes pushed to the back of the wardrobe. Most of it ends up in landfill. This workshop is a small, hands-on way to change that story.
Join us in turning discarded textiles into a scrunchie you’ll reach for again and again. You’ll work entirely by hand, cutting, shaping and stitching your fabric from raw material to finished accessory, and you’ll learn the fundamentals of hand sewing along the way.
Bring a piece of your own story
If you have something at home that’s no longer worn, like a shirt with a stain, a dress that doesn’t fit, or a scarf you’ve fallen out of love with, bring it along. We’ll show you how to take it apart and use it as fabric,…
